Evaluation question 7
Well, looking back at my preliminary task i honestly feel that i have leared a lot in terms of media film techniques, use of editing with great softwares such as Final cut express and Adobe, aand i have also learned that the time frame does not need to be large in order to make a very compelling thriller, seeing as me and my group madee our thriller in a matter of just three days and i think its safe to say that our thriller opening can be comapered to all time great ones.
Secondly, in comparing my preliminary task to my final product, it is undisputed that the skills that i have adopted previously for the preliminary task, such as various media techniques such as point of view shot and over the shoulder shot, match on action, 180 degree rule, eye line match, etc ; has also been used in the thriller. So this basically highlights the significance of the preliminary tash-it helped me and my groupmates learn, discover and master different types of media techniques which not only improved the quality of my final product, but also eliminated any parts of the thriller which made it monotonous. So all in all, the preliminary task was very important in the progression to my final product.
Also I am going to further highlight the preliminary task's highly significance in enhancing the quality of the overall product.
And these are as follows:
The preliminary task helped me and my groupmates to improve the quality of the sound on our thriller, eg it improved my understanding on the different types of sounds in the world of media, ie diegetic and non-diegetic sound. Diegetic sound is a term used to describe sound at which the audience is able to know where the source of it is coming from, and quite simply, non-diegetic is the total opposite.
Also the preliminary task also helped us on the costumes and props section of our thriller, the task was basically a dress rehersal for us in a sense that we essentially used the task as practice for our final product, so this is where me and my groupmates decided on what our costumes and props is essentially going to be, eg a particular costume for the main antagonist in a thriller is a puffy black jacket, leather trainers, etc.

| Our preliminary task certainly was significant in order for our final product to obtain a high standard. |

Evaluation Question 6
Well i have used various new technologies to essentially make my product, such as a digital camcorder, tripod and microphone (i used two of these in order to make my thriller), however i used all three to make my preliminary task, and my focus group.

I have also learned a lot of effectively how these technologies are used-I have also learned to use new types of software in order to form the thriller and these are such as, Final cut express (used for editing) Livetype and photoshop. Now that i have obtained the knowledge of mastering and essentially manipulating these softwares, i would easily be able to use them for things other than media, so this is also seen as an external benefit in a sense.

Since me joining media, i have also learned how to use different websites relating to media, such as surveymonkey and blogger.com were my blog is currently located.

Evaluation question 5
Well first of all my film which i produced is meant to attract teenagers the most, not essentially agults, however some adults may relate to the storyline of the film, therefore having said that, they are somewhat part of my target audience.
Secondly, the general type of people who would form the target audience of our thriller opening would be, like i sais teenagers most notably from 14 to 19 years. Reason why is that the main characters in the film are in the same age category.
When me and my group members were in the process of making the film we never really thought of a specific gender to be our target audience , so our target audience are both male and female, however there are no female characters in the film, but thankfully due to the non-monotonous storyline females will still be interested and entertained.
Well for class i believe the target audience in this context is middle class simply because all the characters in the film are middle class, eg due to the area at which we live, also because the middle class can somewhat relate to the film more so than any other group in society.
I think that our target audience would really enjoy the film because of the appealing nature of the film, its very extreme and yet realistic, so they will find it interesting.
Before the making of the film, me and my group did our own research on this topic and got ourself a focus group.

Contingency plan
Contingency Plan
Name: Victor AkindeleProduction: REV productions |
| Potential problems and how to overcome these problems:
Well the potential problems directly associated with us filming our thriller masterpiece could be the location at which we film the footage. We say that we would like to film the thriller during half term and in school, however the school will be closed during half term and this can be seen as a huge stumbling block. So to solve this obvious problem we would need to film the thriller in perhaps a different location to solve this problem. Another key problem could be that if we do decide to film the thriller in a different location, eg a street. We would have to be aware of streets which are busy so that this could not potentially hinder the production of the thriller, so in order to solve this problem, we would need to ensure that the street at which we film the thriller masterpiece is not busy and is indeed quiet and peaceful. Another key problem could be the surface of the ground, if we decide to film in a park, the mud could result in the surface not being solid and reliable, which could potentially hinder the production of the thriller, damage the equipment, and put our safety at risk. So in order to resolve this key problem is to ensure that if we film in the park, we would need to ensure that the surface is indeed hard and reliable, and we need to ensure that on the day it does not rain, causing mud, and this can be done by checking the weather forecast to know whether it will rain on the proposed day at which we will film our thriller masterpiece. |
